AREA STUDENTS GIVEN A NEW RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

This semester, 179 students in the Ocean County Vocational Technical School’s Culinary Program will be able to utilize some new equipment that will allow them to gain practical experience and help advance their careers after high school.

Thanks to a donation from OceanFirst Foundation to the Ocean County Foundation for Vocational Technical Education, the Vocational Technical School (OCVTS) will receive $77,977 to purchase a new refrigerated truck, transport carts, a portable bar and various other equipment upgrades. These purchases will help teach students important skills in food handling and allow them to do off-site catering for community service projects.

OceanFirst Foundation awarded the grant to the OCVTS in support of their long-standing commitment to ensure their talented students have access to the very latest equipment, training, and programs that will help them succeed. Today, the school offers concentrations in almost every profession imaginable, including childcare, fashion design, building construction, performing arts and even aviation. For more information about other programs that the OCVTS offers, please visit their website at www.ocvts.org.

OceanFirst Bank depositors approved a one-time donation for the creation of OceanFirst Foundation, a private, non-profit foundation, in 1996. Since then hundreds of local charitable organizations have received millions of dollars which has benefited our neighbors and helped to make the Jersey Shore a better place to live and raise a family.
